Holocaust

Intolerance

World War I had come to a close and Germany was blamed for everything. Germany's economy was left in ruins and the country as a whole became very weak. People cried for a new leader and Adolf Hitler stepped to the pate. Hitler, head of the Nazi party and believed in a master race and therefore every other race as inferior. He was an extremist and did not tolerate the "inferior" races and proceeded to exterminate them.

Jews and others were rounded up by the masses and forced to live in ghettos, where they faced horrible and inhumane living conditions. Eventually these ghettos would be liquidated and the people who lived in them were sent to separate camps. These camps consisted of concentration camps, transit camps, forced-labor/work camps and extermination camps. Together these camps worked ran a tight schedule that would eliminate the inferiors. Within the camps these people faced famine, disease and exhaustion. Due to the hatred the death camps like Auschwitz killed at a minimum of 6,000 people daily with either gas, or by burning them alive.

Hitler and his eloquent speaking skills allowed him to win over the support of all of Germany to feel hatred towards the Jews by blaming them for Germany's struggles. Hitler's actions were horrific and displayed extreme measures of intolerance because he wanted to eliminate the Jewish population off the face of the earth.
